Two long-standing Nickelson Editions clients have solo exhibitions coming up in July. Linden Frederick has an exhibition opening July 3rd at Rockland's Dowling Walsh Gallery, with an opening reception as part of the First Friday on July 3rd. For reproductions of Linden's wonderful paintings we use Canson Baryta Photographique paper.
Lynn Karlin's beautiful photographs will be the featured show in the July exhibition at the Kingman Gallery in Deer Isle, with an opening reception on July 5th from 2-5 pm. We print Lynn's photographs on Epson Velvet Fine Art and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308.
The 2015 version of the Maine Photography Show includes a number of Nickelson Editions clients, including Terry Hire, Jon Ziegra, John Stetson, Scott B. Smith, Francesca Gallucio-Steele, Knapp Hudson, and Ni Rong. The exhibition only extends until May 1st in Boothbay Harbor. If you can't make it in person, there is a nice Youtube video with all the winners and comments from juror Tillman Crane.
NE client Jacinda Martinez has her photography featured in the current show ("Bearing Fruit") at the Maine Farmland Trust Gallery in Belfast, ME, which extends until May 8th. We printed her beautiful photographs on Hahnemuhle Museum Etching.

Robert Moran's photograph "Daughter of a Slave" has won First Prize at the upcoming Portraits 2014exhibition at the New York Center for Photographic Art. The exhibition extends from April 7th through April 19th. We print this body of work for Robert on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag.

The Kingman Gallery is a lovely new photography gallery that just opened in Deer Isle, Maine. The gallery will be open through the summer and early fall until October 15th.
The Kingman Gallery includes the work of 12 fine art photographers, including NE clients Lynn Karlin, Jane Yudelman, Terry Hire, Dave Wade, Susan Davens, & Thomas Birtwistle (it incidentally includes my own photography, too), as well as photographic friends such as John Kelly and Anne-Claude Cotty.
I highly recommend checking out the gallery if you anywhere near that area...
The annual and very popular Maine Photography Show opens up tonight in Boothbay Harbor. If past years are any indication, there will surely be many great photographs in the show (I believe 100 are exhibited total). I've lost count but I believe 7 or 8 NE clients are in the show, and I hesitate to list them here as I'm afraid I'm going to miss someone. So, I recommend going to see the show to see for yourself before it ends on May 2nd...
You can find many of her images, as well as a very interesting text, at the link provided by the gallery. I highly recommend checking out the show if you are in the area.
Nickelson Edition artists Michael Heiko, Brendan Bullock, David Wade, Susan Guthrie, and Susan Davens all are exhibiting in the current Lewis Gallery exhibition at the Portland Public Library, Images of Change: Greater Portland's Cityscape since 1960, which extends until February 28th, 2014. (review of show here). I haven't yet seen the show but I'll definitely make it down as it looks pretty promising. From the press release:
The juried exhibition features 72 photographs by 44 artists that interpret the built environment, explore architecture and urbanity, and demonstrate the change and evolution of greater Portland’s cityscape over the last 50+ years. The exhibition will feature images that highlight buildings, streetscapes, neighborhoods, and designed landscapes, including those that have been saved, lost, changed and newly built. Photographs were selected from 238 submissions of images. In addition, there are five historical photographs documenting key buildings from the 1960s and early 1970s.
